Best for: extended-family trips, reunions and groups that care more about the on-property experience than being five minutes from Old Man's Cave.
Sunset View Lodge
Serenity Cabins currently lists Sunset View Lodge as its large indoor-pool property. The operator describes 11 private bedrooms plus two loft sleeping areas and capacity for up to 39 guests.
This is much closer to a private group lodge than a conventional cabin. If you're organizing several families, a retreat or a reunion, the relevant comparison is not “hotel room versus cabin”; it is the cost and convenience of keeping a very large group under one roof.
Best for: very large groups that want a true lodge format and an indoor pool.
Majestic Oaks Lodge
A current HockingHills.com pool-lodge guide describes Majestic Oaks as a roughly 9,500-square-foot lodge sleeping up to 39, with 11 private bedrooms, eight full bathrooms and a large indoor heated swimming pool.
The same current guide warns that large pool lodges can book far in advance. For peak fall weekends, holidays and school-break periods, indoor-pool inventory is the sort of category where waiting for a last-minute deal can backfire.
Southern Belle Lodge
Southern Belle is another verified indoor-pool option with a particularly attractive location claim: the current HockingHills.com guide places it less than two miles from Old Man's Cave. It describes seven bedrooms, sleeping space for up to 20, six full bathrooms, an indoor heated pool, hot tub and entertainment room.
Best for: groups that want both a private pool and unusually quick access to the park's busiest trail area.
The Western Lodge
The Western Lodge from Woodland Ridge Cabins is listed in the same current pool guide with an all-season heated saltwater pool measuring 16 by 39 feet. The guide describes capacity for 30 guests across 10 private bedrooms.
What to verify before booking an indoor-pool cabin
- Is the pool truly indoors and year-round?
- Is it private to your group?
- Is it heated, and to what temperature?
- Are there child-safety locks or barriers?
- Does the pool have restricted hours?
- Is there a pool lift if a guest needs one?
- How far is the property from the trails you actually plan to hike?
Indoor pools are expensive amenities to build and maintain, so expect these properties to skew toward larger group lodges. The useful comparison is often per-person cost, not just the headline nightly rate.
