“Near Old Man's Cave” can mean two very different things in Hocking Hills. Some rentals are genuinely about two miles away. Others use the attraction name loosely while sitting 20 or 30 minutes from the trailhead.
For fall weekends and summer Saturdays, that distinction matters. Staying close can mean skipping a long rural drive and getting to the gorge before the main parking rush.
Springwood Cabins
Springwood's current site states that its cabins are only two miles from Old Man's Cave. The property spans 52 wooded acres with private trails and a stocked pond, and all of its cabins currently include private hot tubs and Wi-Fi.
This is one of the better “location plus actual cabin experience” combinations: close enough for an early start, but not simply a roadside room.
Cowboy Trail Cabin
Serenity Cabins currently places this two-person cabin about two miles from Old Man's Cave. It has a queen bed, custom shower, wood-burning fireplace and private hot tub.
Best for: couples who want a genuine cabin atmosphere but do not want their main hiking day to begin with a long drive.
Bluebonnet Luxury Cabin
Bluebonnet is another current Serenity Cabins couples property listed at about two miles from Old Man's Cave. The operator describes a king bedroom, private hot tub, two fireplaces, full kitchen and a custom couple's shower.
Creative Cabins — The Lily Pad
The Lily Pad's current listing says it sits on 30 wooded acres about two miles from Old Man's Cave. It sleeps two and currently lists Wi-Fi, an outdoor hot tub, full kitchen and fireplace.
Journey Ridge Cabins
Journey Ridge operates three secluded two-person cabins, each on its own three-to-five-acre parcel. Its current site describes the cabins as a short drive from Old Man's Cave and Ash Cave, with full kitchens, fireplaces, covered decks, private hot tubs and gas grills.
The operator does not publish the same precise “two miles” claim in the current page we checked, so this belongs in the close to the park category rather than the precise-distance list.
Is two miles actually worth paying more for?
Sometimes. If your trip is built around Old Man's Cave and you are visiting on a peak October weekend, location can be more valuable than a game room you barely use. If your trip includes Ash Cave, Rock House, Lake Hope and restaurants in Logan, being directly beside one trailhead matters less.
The right question is not “Which cabin is closest?” It is “Where are we driving every day?”
